About the proceedings, all papers will be published exclusively online and will be freely accessible to all immediately upon publication. They will be the subject of a virtual collection within those of our publisher, De Gruyter, which will allow access, if necessary, to the entire volume of proceedings. Everyone will therefore be able to distribute their paper largely and free of charge, and every paper will bear a specific DOI which will ensure its correct referencing. In view of the difficult health context, we have decided to extend the deadline to April 30, which is a strict deadline. All the recommendations are on the page https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/17. To sum up, we recommand a length of between 4,000 and 10,000 words, excluding the bibliography and figure captions, and a maximum of 15 figures and tables.Remember too about the possibility of attaching online voluminous additional data: photographies, tables, inventories, 3D models, etc.
We would like to thank all the sessions organizers, the speakers and the listeners most sincerely for their participation to the Meso10 congress. In spite of this new organisation, 340 people registered on the site and even more followed the live streaming discussions, with about 350 people each day (between 250 and 450). We can therefore estimate the global participation to this event probably between 500 and 600 listeners. As we explain in the closing speech (which will be soon online too), we are going to leave the videos of the talks on the website until at least 15 October, so that everyone will have time to watch as many of them as possible. They will of course remain accessible only to those registered on the site. Some of these videos will be withdrawn after this date of 15 October, at the request of the authors. So don't wait too long to continue reading all these works. However, most of them will remain online until the proceedings are published. Remember too that all the discussions have been recorded and are available at the bottom of the pages of each session. Meso10 Conference will start in few hours: here are some last tips! You can consult them by the Session tab (accessible only after registration). NB: the "Full Screen" option is sometimes disabled. A right click on the video should solved this problem. In order to facilitate your note-taking work, you can download a notebook already containing all the titles of the communications and authors' names in two versions, one for Libreoffice Writer and the other for Microsoft Word. Only the discussions will be broadcast live: please consult the planing to know the time at which the discussions of each session are scheduled (please note that the times indicated are those of France: GMT + 02:00). Discussions will be moderated by the session organizers. These will exchange with the speakers live in a virtual meeting by Zoom. At the same time, the discussions will be streamed on this page so that every registered listener could watch it: https://traces.univ-tlse2.fr/live-meso-2020-751507.kjsp The public can ask questions to the speakers using the written form below the video. The question will then be sent to us by email, which will allow us to select the questions, remove any redundancies, etc. They will then be transmitted to the organizers for them to share with the speakers. It is therefore necessary to anticipate that there will be a small delay between the time when you ask your question and the time when it is sent to the speakers. Please, note that all discussions will be recorded and upload online.
The ~100 firsts communications and posters are online! You can consult them by the Session tab (accessible only after registration). The "Full Screen" option is sometimes disabled. A right click on the video should solved this problem. The other videos and posters will be put online progressively, as they arrive. In order to facilitate your note-taking work, you can download a notebook already containing all the titles of the communications and authors' names, for Libreoffice or Microsoft Word.
Please look at our new page "technical guidances" to get advices on how to record your online presentations or poster! From a technical point of view, all presenters will have to send us their presentation combining slides and narration, recorded in English in English in a video format, if possible in July. Please send us (meso2020@sciencesconf.org) your files via a file server such as smatch or wetransfer. These videos will then be put online with your abstract in a restricted area of the website (remember to register yourself and to suggest it to all your colleagues and potential listeners). In order to respect the legal framework, we also thank you for completing this form, which is essential to authorise the online publication of your communication. Please, send it to us at the same time as your video. If possible, we also suggest that you provide between two and four bibliographical references accessible online only, which will allow your listeners to learn more about your subject if you wish and thus enrich the discussions. Communications will last between 15 and 20 minutes. Please respect the 16:9 format for your slideshows and if possible use our templates (available here for Mircosoft Powerpoint or LibreOffice). Posters will be either image or PDF files in A1 format, or short presentations limited to 5 slides without narration. All presentations will be available several days before the conference. During the week of the congress itself, time for online discussions (live video and chat) will be scheduled and moderated by the session organizers (see the online program: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/program; please note that the times indicated are those of France).
Slide models for the meeting can be downloaded from the website, in Microsoft Powerpoint or LibreOffice format: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/id/18 We suggest you to use it in order to keep a certain visual coherence to all the communications.
Please look at our new page "technical guidances" to get advices on how to record your online presentations or poster! From a technical point of view, in the coming months, all presenters will have to send us their presentation accompanied by the narration recorded in English in a video format. These will be put online on a restricted website and possibly on a dedicated Youtube channel. This last possibility will only be possible with the written agreement of the communicators, to be validated on the registration form (also compulsory to have the password giving access to the online communications: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/registration). These communications will last between 15 and 20 minutes. Posters will be either image or PDF files in A0 format, or short presentations limited to 5 slides without narration. All presentations will be available several days before the conference. During the week of the congress itself, time for online discussions (live video and chat) will be scheduled and moderated by the session organizers (see the provisional online program: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/program; please note that the times indicated are those of France).
The period for submission of proposals for papers and posters for the Meso'10 congress is now over. We can already look forward to the interest shown for this event, as more than 240 proposals have been submitted! These have been evaluated by the session organizers and the members of the International Scientific Committee. The opinions issued are currently being communicated to the authors. The COVID-19 pandemic makes it impossible to physically hold the congress on site in Toulouse in early September 2020. Local constraints prevent us from postponing it to a later date. In agreement with the International Scientific Committee, we then all decided to keep it on the dates planned, but only at a later date. Precise technical solutions are still under study (notably the choice of informatic tools), but the principles will be those of pre-recorded oral communications, broadcast online, and interactive speaking time (videoconferencing, chat, etc.) at precise times. More precise information will be put online quickly. We are currently working on the possibility of abolishing all registration fees, to make Meso'10 a pioneering model of free, open, free and eco-responsible congress! More information soon.
The current pandemic makes the physical holding of the symposium uncertain, as we do not know whether we will be allowed to all gather in one place, or even whether international transportation will be restored. In any case, a virtual version will at least be organized, according to modalities to be specified, as well as the rapid publication of the proceedings. We advise you to wait a few days before registering in order to simplify the administrative procedures. If necessary, we will extend the period of reduced fees beyond 30 April.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic around the world and the general containment that followed, we have decided to extend the deadline for submitting a paper or poster for the congress: the new deadline is April 17th! ou can submit your proposals either in a general theme or in one of the specific sessions related to these themes! Time is running out, don't delay! For oral communications: the speaking time allocated to each communication will be 15 minutes and the only langage accepted will be English. These presentations must be in .odp, .ppt, .pptx or .pdf format. For written communications (i.e. posters): they must be registered within the framework of one or the other of these sessions and be written in English. The format of these posters must be DIN A0 (84.1 x 118.9 cm), oriented vertically and with a font size of 28 point minimum for the text. All your proposals for communications, oral or written, must be submitted exclusively via this site, after you have created an account.
The organisers wish that the proceedings of this tenth conference be published as quickly and widely as possible. Despite our unwavering commitment to paper publications, experience has shown how difficult, and sometimes impossible, it is to achieve a rapid publication of such conferences. We have therefore opted for an exclusively electronic publication. All published articles (in English only) will have a specific DOI but will be gathered in a virtual collection allowing access, if necessary, to the entire volume of proceedings. This choice offers several advantages: an unlimited (but reasonable) size of the articles, the possibility of attaching voluminous additional data, publication of the papers over several months (between 6 months and a year after the conference itself), free and open dissemination of all articles, thus ensuring the widest possible distribution. The partner publisher of the congress is De Gruyter. logo_De_Gruyter
Since 20/12/2019, the list of sessions is online: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/browse/session Take advantage of the holiday season to take the time to write and submit a proposal for an oral or poster presentation at one of these sessions: https://meso2020.sciencesconf.org/submission/submit. For oral communications: the speaking time allocated to each communication will be 15 minutes and the only langage accepted will be English. These presentations must be in .odp, .ppt, .pptx or .pdf format. For written communications: they must be registered within the framework of one or the other of these sessions and be written in English. The format of these posters must be DIN A0 (84.1 x 118.9 cm), oriented vertically and with a font size of 28 point minimum for the text. All your proposals for communications, oral or written, must be submitted exclusively via this site, after you have created an account. These deposits will only be possible until March 31, 2020, without any possible extension of the date. The proposals will then be evaluated by the International Scientific Committee and the organizers and the responses sent at the end of April.
The call for sessions has now closed since 15 September 2019! More than twenty session proposals were submitted (for a maximum of around fifteen possible sessions). Thank you all for your participation and enthusiasm! The organizers and the International Scientific Committee will now examine the proposals received and establish the list of selected sessions. These will be published on the site around October 15.
The session call is open from 1 April 2019 until 15 September 2019. You can submit your proposals by clicking on the "New submission" tab and filling in the dedicated form. The international scientific committee (currently being set up) and the organizing committee will be in charge of evaluating the proposals submitted. The call for papers will open on October 15, 2019. According to what we announced in Belgrade, the symposium will not include more than two sessions at the same time, so that each listener can follow a maximum of presentations. We therefore hope that the sessions will be organized as far as possible by full half-days (i.e. a total of 14 possible sessions) and that they will cover broad thematic, geographical and chronological fields. Presented papers will have a 20-minute talk time, or about 8 papers for a half-day session.
- Submission of session proposals between January and September 2019. - Selection of sessions in September-October 2019 and publication of the lists of sessions selected at the end of October 2019. - Submission of communications proposals between October and March 2020. - Selection of communications in March-April 2020. - Announcement of the provisional programme in June 2020.
