Le Mas d'Azil (Ariège)

The Mas d'Azil is a major prehistoric site which gave its name to the Azilian. This immense cave, partially excavated in the 20th century, also contains Mesolithic levels.

Niaux (Ariège)

The Niaux cave is a very known cave for its Magdalenian occupation and paintings. The Prehistoric ouupations are known from 1906, with a lot of black paintings (more informations: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grotte_de_Niaux).
