Discovered in 1920 by Raymond Lacam, the Cuzoul cave has been undergoing excavations since 2005. Nicolas Valdeyron, Professor of Prehistory at the University of Toulouse Jean-Jaurès, draws up here a report (in 2016) on the research carried out on this vast Mesolithic open-air site, sometimes using innovative techniques. Illustrating the period from 10,000 years to 4,000 years before our era, these excavations provide a better understanding of the daily life of the last hunter-gatherers in the South-West of France.
